Tallink’s Office Building
In spring 2009 in Tallinn, a trendy and up-to-date Tallink’s office building was opened at Sadama 5/7. It is renowned for its unique architecture and was named the best concrete structure of the year of 2009 by the Estonian Concrete Association. In addition to 4 storeys, it also has a basement. The building gross area is 5852 m². The architects Meelis Press Arhitektuuribüroo AS, a contractor and developer is OÜ Fastinvest and Constructor Merko Ehitus AS. We fulfilled different waterproofing works through the contractor’s request.

What we did
We installed waterproofing with protective heat insulation on the basement, garret floor, elevator shaft, excavations for water supply, foundation piling and the basement slab shafts.
What we used
For the elevator shaft, excavations for water supply, foundation piling and the basement slab shafts we used laminated membrane GRACE Preprufe 160R. We installed laminated membrane GRACE Bituthene 4000 with EPS 120 insulation plates on the basement walls. The open roof areas were waterproofed with the laminated membrane GRACE Bituthene 4000, the overcoating of the same extent of the laminated membrane GRACE I&WS. To stop water from penetrating between the structure and waterproofing, we sealed the laminated membrane edges with liquid membrane. To protect turns up we used the protection board Servipak 3 mm and the heat insulation onto the horisontal open roof.
